L1 Engineer - OS & Hypervisor

Key Responsibilities:

• Issue Escalation: Identify complex issues that cannot be resolved independently and escalate them to the L2 team, providing a complete set of initial analysis logs.

• Health Monitoring: Monitor the health and performance of Operating Systems (OS) and Virtual Machines (VMs).

• VM Request Handling: Perform basic VM operations, such as provisioning (creating), deleting, powering on/off, and restarting VMs as requested by users.

• SOP Execution: Execute daily operational tasks in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

• Virtualization Support: Ensure that critical services within the OS, such as DNS, DHCP, or web servers, remain in a "Running" state.

• Reporting & Maintenance: Monitor resource usage at the hypervisor level (Host CPU, RAM, storage latency) to ensure no host becomes overloaded and maintain regular checklists.

Requirements:

• Minimum Diploma/Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Informatics Engineering, or a relevant IT field.

• Minimum 1 year of experience in infrastructure, servers, or OS. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply and for fresh graduates, a minimum GPA of 3.00 is required.

• Basic knowledge of Linux or Windows Administration.

• Basic knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM, or Hyper-V).

• Familiarity with Command Line Interface (CLI).

• English Proficiency: Must be able to read technical documents (manuals) and write incident chronology reports in English.

• Willing to work in 24/7 shifts and able to adapt quickly to new technologies.

• Willing to be assigned to customer sites.

• Strong analytical skills to handle high-pressure situations and resolve issues rapidly.

• This role requires acceptance of a contract-based employment status.

Nice to Have:

• Exposure to VMware/OpenStack or OpenShift.

• Basic container / cloud / scripting skills (e.g., Bash or PowerShell).
