As part of this investment, we are expanding our CDM and Health & Safety capability and are seeking experienced professionals to help shape, strengthen and influence safety performance across a diverse portfolio of projects, clients and services throughout the UK.

We are looking for experienced CDM and Health & Safety professionals to play a key role in ensuring construction, maintenance, infrastructure and refurbishment activities are delivered safely, legally and effectively.

This is a fantastic opportunity for knowledgeable construction health and safety professionals who want to influence projects from concept through to completion, providing expert advice, challenge and assurance across a diverse portfolio of high-risk and complex environments and services across Capita's delivery arm.

Working closely with project teams, clients, designers, contractors and senior stakeholders, you'll help ensure that Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015) requirements are embedded throughout the project lifecycle and that Principal Designer and Principal Contractor duties are effectively discharged.

Dependingonyourroleandlevelofexperience,youmay:

• ProvideprofessionalCDMadviceandassuranceacrossaportfolioofprojectsandservices.

• SupportandoverseethedeliveryofPrincipalDesignerandPrincipalContractoractivities.

• Reviewkeyprojectdocumentation,includingPre-ConstructionInformation(PCI),ConstructionPhasePlans(CPP),DesignRiskRegisters,Health&SafetyFiles,RiskAssessmentsandMethodStatements.

• Undertakeaudits,inspectionsandassurancereviewsacrossprojectandoperationalsites.

• Challengeunsafepractices,poordesignriskmanagementandnon-compliantarrangements.

• Supportprocurement,mobilisationandcontractormanagementactivities.

• Adviseoncontractorcompetence,riskmanagementandstatutorycompliance.

• Delivertraining,coachingandawarenesssessionstoprojectteamsandstakeholders.

• Contributetoinvestigations,lessonslearnedandcontinuousimprovementinitiatives.

• Monitorlegislativeandindustrydevelopments,ensuringorganisationalcomplianceandbestpractice.

• Forsenioropportunities,providestrategicadvicetobusinessleadersandseniorstakeholderswhilehelpingshapeandstrengthenHealth&Safetycapabilityacrosstheorganisation.

YouwillbeaconfidentandcredibleCDMprofessionalwiththeabilitytoinfluencestakeholdersatalllevels.

Essential

• SignificantexperienceprovidingCDMadvicewithinconstruction,infrastructure,engineering,facilitiesmanagement,propertyorotherhigh-riskenvironments.

• StrongworkingknowledgeoftheConstruction(DesignandManagement)Regulations2015.

• ExperiencesupportingoroverseeingPrincipalDesignerand/orPrincipalContractorduties.

• NEBOSHConstructionCertificateorequivalentconstructionhealthandsafetyqualification.

• ExperiencereviewingConstructionPhasePlans,DesignRiskRegistersandHealth&SafetyFiles.

• Experienceundertakingaudits,inspectionsandcompliancereviews.

• Excellentcommunication,reportwritingandstakeholdermanagementskills.

• Abilitytoprovidepractical,proportionateandrisk-basedadvice.

Desirable

• NEBOSHDiploma,NVQLevel6OccupationalHealthandSafetyorequivalent.

• CharteredIOSH(CMIOSH),APSMembershiporequivalentprofessionalaccreditation.

• Degree,HNCorHNDinConstruction,Engineering,BuildingSurveying,Architecture,ProjectManagementorarelateddiscipline.

• KnowledgeoftheBuildingSafetyActandfiresafetyconsiderationswithinconstructionprojects.

• Experienceworkingacrosspublicsector,utilities,highways,estates,socialhousingorinfrastructureprogrammes.
