INSTRUMENT FIELD TECHNICIAN

Qualifications:

• Min. Technical High School.

• Minimum of five (5) years related experience in oil & gas industry for Instrumentation equipment installation and maintenance works.

• Hold training certificates for Instrumentation equipment installation standards and practices.

• Fully qualified in oil and gas and Industrial Instrumentation work and able to work under minimum supervision.

• Certified in TKBT (Tenaga Kerja Bangunan Tinggi) Level 2 Training.

• Certified EEHA (electrical equipment hazardust area)

• Certified Confined Space

Responsibilities:

1. Installation and Commissioning

   • Install and commission field instruments including:

     • Pressure, temperature, level, and flow transmitters

     • Control valves, actuators, and positioners

     • Safety and shutdown system components (e.g., ESD valves, F&G detectors)

   • Interpret and work from engineering drawings: P&IDs, loop diagrams, hookup drawings, and wiring schematics.

2. Calibration and Testing

   • Perform accurate calibration of instruments using certified test equipment (e.g., HART communicator, multifunction calibrators).

   • Conduct loop checks and function tests during commissioning and maintenance activities.

3. Maintenance and Troubleshooting

   • Diagnose and repair faulty instruments, signal issues, or communication faults (analog/digital, HART, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus).

   • Carry out routine preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance of all instrumentation.

   • Ensure continuous and reliable operation of critical instrumentation in hazardous environments.

4. Shutdowns and Turnarounds

   • Participate in plant shutdowns and turnarounds to inspect, overhaul, and test instrumentation systems.

   • Support project and maintenance teams during shutdown activities and recommissioning.
