About the role
As an R&D Senior Lab Technician, you will execute application activities based on Salesforce requests, conduct pilot trials, and support new product and formulation development through application testing and prototype creation. You will collaborate with local PD and Regional Technical teams, contribute to innovation projects and customer-facing activities, and ensure raw material availability while maintaining GMP standards and laboratory readiness.
Key responsibilities include
Develop and optimize product recipes and formulations to support new product introduction (NPI), customer projects, and innovation initiatives.
Conduct formulation trials and product evaluations based on Salesforce requests and project requirements.
Execute pilot lab activities, ensuring timely delivery of project milestones and samples.
Prepare prototypes and concept samples for customer meetings, Inspiration Days, marketing campaigns, webinars, exhibitions, and other business development activities.
Work closely with Product Development, Product Experts, and regional technical teams to refine formulations, troubleshoot challenges, and translate technical requirements into commercially viable solutions.
Conduct shelf-life studies, product matching, and performance evaluations to support recipe development and product improvements.
Support Quality Assurance activities, including application validation and investigation of customer complaints or product deviations.
Maintain accurate project documentation, formulation records, and technical reports in Salesforce, while capturing and sharing key learnings within the R&D team.
Coordinate sample preparation and ensure all samples meet project objectives, timelines, and quality standards.
Manage raw material inventory and ensure laboratory readiness to support ongoing development activities.
Maintain Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), laboratory housekeeping, and safety standards within the application and pilot laboratories.
Support technical training, knowledge-sharing sessions, and cross-functional projects as required.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
About you
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of experience in the food industry, preferably in product development, formulation, or laboratory roles.
Hands-on experience in recipe and product development, including formulation optimization and troubleshooting.
Good understanding of ingredient functionality and interactions within food formulations.
Knowledge of product evaluation, shelf-life studies, and laboratory practices.
Experience in the cocoa, chocolate, confectionery, or ingredients industry is an advantage.
Good communication skills and proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
Familiarity with SAP or other business systems is a plus.
Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Willing to be based in Bandung.
