Staff Operational Freight Forwarder

About the role

PT Cahaya Lambang Logistik is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Operational Freight Forwarder to join our team. This is a full-time position based in Kelapa Gading, Jakarta Raya. As a Staff Operational Freight Forwarder, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods across international borders. You will be responsible for coordinating freight operations, managing import and export documentation, and liaising with various stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of shipments. This position is essential to maintaining our reputation as a reliable logistics partner in the import/export and customs brokerage industry.

Key responsibilities

1. Coordinate freight forwarding operations for both import and export shipments, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements

2. Prepare and process customs documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists and customs declarations

3. Liaise with customs authorities, shipping lines, airlines and other transport operators to facilitate smooth clearance and transportation of goods

4. Monitor shipment status and provide regular updates to clients regarding delivery timelines and any potential delays

5. Manage freight bookings and arrange transportation through appropriate carriers based on client requirements and cost considerations

6. Prepare quotations and cost estimates for freight forwarding services

7. Maintain accurate records of all shipments, documentation and communications for audit and compliance purposes

8. Handle customer inquiries and resolve any operational issues or discrepancies that may arise during the freight forwarding process

9. Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations, export controls and import requirements

10. Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure proper handling and storage of goods

What we're looking for

1. Can speak Mandarin and English, both wirtten and verbal

2. Minimum 2-3 years of experience in freight forwarding, customs clearance or import/export operations

3. Strong knowledge of international shipping procedures, customs regulations and documentation requirements

4. Proficiency in freight forwarding software systems and Microsoft Office applications

5. Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously

6. Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data entry

7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

8. Knowledge of import/export regulations and customs procedures in Indonesia

9. Problem-solving skills and ability to handle unexpected challenges in shipment operations

10. Professional demeanour and ability to build strong relationships with clients and external partners

11. Preferred: Certification or training in customs brokerage or international trade
