Barista

About the role

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Barista to join the team at 11:11 Bakehouse Bali. This is a contract position based in Badung, Bali, where you will be at the heart of our café operations, crafting exceptional coffee beverages and delivering outstanding customer service. As a Barista, you will play a crucial role in creating memorable experiences for our guests, whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality and presentation in every cup you prepare.

What you'll be doing

1. Preparing and serving a variety of espresso-based drinks, including lattes, cappuccinos, flat whites, and specialty coffee beverages

2. Operating and maintaining espresso machines and other coffee equipment to ensure optimal performance and hygiene standards

3. Grinding coffee beans to the correct consistency and adjusting grind sizes based on brewing methods and seasonal variations

4. Steaming and frothing milk to achieve the perfect texture and temperature for each drink

5. Taking customer orders accurately and providing knowledgeable recommendations about coffee selections and menu items

6. Maintaining a clean and organised work station, including regular cleaning and sanitisation of all equipment

7. Managing the point-of-sale system and processing payments accurately and efficiently

8. Engaging with customers in a friendly and professional manner to build rapport and encourage repeat visits

9. Assisting with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed

10. Supporting the wider café team during peak service periods

What we're looking for

1. Previous experience working as a Barista or in a similar café or hospitality role

2. Strong knowledge of coffee varieties, brewing methods, and flavour profiles

3. Proficiency in operating espresso machines and other café equipment

4. Excellent customer service skills with a genuine passion for creating positive guest experiences

5. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining attention to detail

6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills

7. Attention to hygiene and food safety standards

8. Flexibility and reliability in meeting shift commitments

9. A positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop your skills

10. Barista certification or formal coffee training is highly desirable
