About the role
PT Solaris Scientific Indonesia is seeking an Assistant Sales Manager (Orthopedic) to join our dynamic sales team. This is a full-time position based in Central Jakarta. In this role, you will play a key part in driving sales growth and market expansion within the orthopedic division. You will support the Sales Manager in achieving targets, developing client relationships, and implementing sales strategies that strengthen our market position in the orthopedic sector. This position offers the opportunity to grow your career in medical device sales whilst contributing to improved patient outcomes in orthopedic healthcare.
Key responsibilities
Assist in developing and executing sales strategies to achieve departmental targets and revenue goals within the orthopedic segment
Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare providers, hospitals, clinics and key decision-makers in the orthopedic field
Support the sales team in identifying new business opportunities and expanding existing client accounts
Conduct product presentations and demonstrations to clients, highlighting the benefits and clinical applications of orthopedic products
Prepare and submit sales proposals, quotations and contract documentation to prospective and existing customers
Monitor sales performance metrics and provide regular reports to the Sales Manager on activities, progress and challenges
Coordinate with marketing and clinical teams to ensure effective product promotion and customer education
Support the recruitment, training and mentoring of junior sales staff as required
Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, sales activities and market intelligence
Travel regularly to visit clients, attend industry events and participate in trade shows and conferences
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Life Sciences, Engineering or a related field
Minimum 2-3 years of sales experience, preferably in the medical device, pharmaceuticals or healthcare sector
Demonstrated experience in B2B sales with a track record of achieving or exceeding targets
Strong understanding of the orthopedic market, products and healthcare customer needs
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and CRM software
Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Valid driving licence and willingness to travel regularly within Jakarta and surrounding regions
Fluent in Indonesian and English (both verbal and written)
Previous experience in sales management or a supervisory role is preferred
Knowledge of orthopedic implants, instruments or medical devices is advantageous
