About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project / Engineering Manager to join our team at our facility in Batam, Riau Islands. This is a full-time position that plays a strategic role in overseeing and managing engineering projects from conception through to completion. As Project / Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for directing project teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest technical standards. This position is integral to driving operational excellence and maintaining our competitive advantage in the plastic manufacturing industry.

Key responsibilities

• Responsible for the successful execution of New Product Introduction (NPI) from trial stage through to handover for mass production

• Liaise closely with internal departments and customers to ensure smooth, timely, and successful project launches

• Lead the NPI team and clearly assign roles and responsibilities to team members

• Plan, develop and oversee engineering projects, ensuring alignment with company objectives and client requirements

• Identify and implement solutions to technical challenges and project risks

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards across all projects
  

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree (S1) in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related discipline

• Minimum 3 years' experience in project engineering or project management within manufacturing or plastics industry

• Malaysian Nationality

• Proficient in Mandarin and English

• Willing to be based in Batam

• Proven track record of successfully managing complex engineering projects from initiation to completion

• Strong knowledge of plastics manufacturing processes, equipment and production techniques

• Excellent project management skills with proficiency in scheduling, budgeting and resource allocation

• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams effectively

• Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills

• Knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations relevant to manufacturing operations

• Strong personality with professional attitude

• Able to communicate issues clearly, concisely, and effectively
