About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Mathematic Teacher to join our secondary education team in Semarang, Jawa Tengah. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in shaping students' mathematical understanding and fostering their analytical thinking skills. As a Mathematic Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective mathematics instruction to secondary level students, whilst contributing to the school's mission of providing quality biblical education. This role is essential to our commitment to developing well-rounded students with strong numeracy skills and a genuine appreciation for mathematical concepts.

Key responsibilities

1. Plan and deliver comprehensive mathematics lessons that are engaging, interactive and aligned with the secondary curriculum standards

2. Create and maintain a supportive learning environment that encourages students to develop confidence in their mathematical abilities

3. Assess student progress through various methods including tests, assignments, projects and class participation, providing constructive feedback to support their learning

4. Develop and prepare teaching materials, resources and assessments that cater to diverse learning needs and styles

5. Utilize appropriate teaching methodologies and technology to enhance mathematical understanding and engagement

6. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and areas requiring additional support

7. Participate actively in departmental meetings, curriculum development and school initiatives

8. Foster a positive classroom culture that promotes critical thinking, problem-solving and collaborative learning

9. Support students in preparing for examinations and standardized assessments

10. Contribute to the broader school community through extracurricular activities and pastoral care responsibilities as required

What we're looking for

1. A bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education or a related field

2. A valid teaching qualification or certification in secondary mathematics education

3. Minimum of 2–3 years' experience teaching mathematics at the secondary level

4. Strong proficiency in mathematics and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively

5. Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to maintain discipline and create an inclusive learning environment

6. Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with varying learning abilities and styles

7. Proficiency in using educational technology and digital tools to enhance instruction

8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students and parents

9. A commitment to biblical values and the educational philosophy of the school.

10. Passion for education and a genuine desire to inspire students to excel in mathematics

11. Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines effectively

12. Experience with curriculum development or educational innovation would be advantageous
