Responsibilities
- To set-up, operate or tend milling or planning machines to mill, plane, shape or groove or profile metal or plastic work pieces.
- Ensure the use of measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, micrometers.
- Study blueprints, layouts, sketches, or work orders to asses work pieces specifications.
- Determine tooling instructions, tools and materials needed and sequences of operations.
- Observe milling or planning machine operation and adjust controls to ensure conformance specified tolerances.
- Check that all products conform with specifications.
- Report any untoward, abnormal work process conditions to immediate superior.
- Coordinate with Quality Control Officer for Inspection.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of workplace area; Ensure that the workplace is cleaned and organized, power off machines and equipment used after working hours.
- Participate in Correction/Corrective Action Planning or Root Cause Analysis for process/ product-specific issues.
- Any other tasks assigned by the Supervisor or the Management for individual improvement.
Job Requirements
- Vocational / Highschool Graduate
- Experience in machining
- Ability to read and interpret design blueprints
