Interior Designer - Commercial Fitout

About the role

We are seeking an Interior Designer - Commercial Fitout to join MAISON DEKOR INDO. This is a full-time position based in West Jakarta, Jakarta. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and conceptualising commercial spaces that are both functional and aesthetically compelling. You will work collaboratively with internal Design Team, Operation Team & Vendors. You will be reporting to Design Manager.

Key responsibilities

1. Develop comprehensive interior design concepts and proposals for commercial fitout projects, including spatial planning, colour schemes, material selections, and furniture specifications

2. Conduct detailed site assessments and measurements to understand existing conditions, constraints, and opportunities for commercial spaces

3. Create detailed design documentation including floor plans, elevations, sections, and 3D visualisations to communicate design intent to clients and construction teams

4. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle to ensure design specifications are accurately implemented

5. Manage client relationships through regular presentations, consultations, and design revisions to ensure project requirements and expectations are met

6. Select and source appropriate materials, finishes, furniture, and fixtures that align with project budgets and design objectives

7. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to obtain quotes, samples, and technical information to support design decisions

8. Ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and accessibility standards for commercial environments

9. Prepare detailed project timelines and budgets, tracking costs and managing resources efficiently throughout the project delivery

10. Oversee site inspections during construction phases to ensure design quality and specifications are maintained

What we're looking for

1. Diploma or degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field from a recognised institution

2. Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in interior design, with demonstrated portfolio of completed commercial fitout projects

3. Proficiency in design software including AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D visualisation tools such as Enscape, V-Ray & others

4. Strong understanding of commercial design principles, space planning, ergonomics, and workplace functionality

5. Excellent knowledge of materials, finishes, and furniture options suitable for commercial applications

6. Exceptional visual and spatial awareness with the ability to conceptualise and communicate complex design ideas clearly

7. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously whilst meeting deadlines

8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to liaise effectively with clients, stakeholders, and construction teams

9. Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality design outcomes

10. Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and compliance requirements in Jakarta and Indonesia is advantageous

11. Experience with Building Information Modelling (BIM) or integrated project delivery methodologies is preferred
