Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Install, terminate, and splice Fiber Optic Cables (FOC) for aerial and underground telecommunications networks.
- Perform fiber optic cable splicing, joint closures, and fiber termination while ensuring minimal signal loss.
- Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and fault isolation using OTDR, Optical Power Meter, Light Source, and other fiber optic testing equipment.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, repairs, and restoration of fiber optic cable systems.
- Install and secure aerial fiber optic cables, hardware, and accessories in accordance with project specifications and safety standards.
- Read and interpret fiber optic network diagrams, splice plans, and engineering drawings.
- Ensure proper labeling, documentation, and recording of splice results and test reports.
- Coordinate with engineers and supervisors to complete installations and maintenance activities on schedule.
- Comply with company policies, quality standards, and occupational health and safety regulations while working at heights and in the field.
- Maintain tools, testing equipment, and work vehicles in good operating condition.
