Counselor

Mahatma Gandhi School is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and qualified School Counselor to support the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development of our students. Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small-group counseling to students experiencing academic, emotional, behavioral, or social challenges.

• Support students' social-emotional learning (SEL) and overall wellbeing.

• Conduct observations, assessments, and develop appropriate intervention plans.

• Collaborate with teachers, school leaders, and parents to support students' development and learning needs.

• Identify and support students requiring additional educational or psychological intervention.

• Maintain accurate and confidential student records and counseling documentation.

• Organize and deliver wellbeing programs, workshops, and awareness activities for students, parents, and staff.

• Assist in crisis intervention and safeguarding matters when necessary.

• Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe school environment.

• Participate actively in multidisciplinary meetings regarding student support.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Psychology, Guidance & Counseling, Educational Psychology, or a related field.

• Licensed Psychologist (Psikolog) is highly preferred.

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a School Counselor, Educational Psychologist, Guidance Counselor, or in a similar role.

• Experience working in an international or Cambridge/IB school is an advantage.

• Strong knowledge of child and adolescent development.

• Experience in counseling, psychological assessment, and student intervention.

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and report-writing skills.

• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.

• Able to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate high professional ethics.

• Passionate about supporting student wellbeing and working collaboratively within a multicultural environment.
