About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Primary English Teacher to join our dynamic teaching team. This is a position that offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners' language development and overall educational experience. As a Primary English Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, age-appropriate English language instruction to primary school students, fostering a love of language and literature whilst building essential communication skills. This role is based in Jakarta Utara, Jakarta Raya and will involve working on-site within our school environment.

Key responsibilities

1. Planning and delivering well-structured English lessons that meet curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning needs of primary students

2. Creating engaging learning materials and resources that promote active participation and language development

3. Assessing student progress through a range of formative and summative assessment methods and providing constructive feedback

4. Developing students' reading, writing, listening and speaking skills in English through varied teaching strategies and interactive activities

5. Fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all students feel confident to participate and take risks in their language learning

6. Collaborating with colleagues to coordinate curriculum delivery and share best practices in English language teaching

7. Communicating regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and areas for development

8. Supporting extracurricular English activities and school events as appropriate

9. Maintaining accurate records of student attendance, progress and achievements

What we're looking for

1. A Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related discipline, or equivalent teaching qualification

2. A recognised teaching qualification (such as PGCE, TEFL, TESOL or equivalent) or strong evidence of teaching ability would be an advantage

3. Proven experience teaching English to primary-age students in a school setting

4. Excellent command of the English language with strong written and verbal communication skills

5. A passion for language education and a commitment to fostering student engagement and progress

6. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain discipline and motivation

7. Proficiency in using educational technology and digital resources to enhance teaching

8. A collaborative approach to working with colleagues, parents and school leadership
