Assist in basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, cutting, or portioning ingredients.
Support kitchen staff by ensuring mise en place is ready as instructed.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the workstation, tools, and kitchen equipment.
Carry out dishwashing, cleaning, and sanitation duties as assigned.
Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing deliveries when required.
Provide additional support to chefs and commis during busy service periods.
Perform tasks flexibly according to the operational needs of the kitchen.
Report any issues related to stock, equipment, or cleanliness to supervisors.
Work as part of the team to ensure smooth daily kitchen operations.
General Responsibilities:
Perform assigned daily tasks to support kitchen operations effectively
Maintain personal hygiene, grooming, and discipline in line with company standards.
Keep the workstation, tools, and surrounding areas clean and orderly at all times.
Follow instructions from senior chefs, commis, or supervisors promptly and accurately.
Adhere strictly to food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations.
Handle ingredients and equipment with care to avoid waste or damage.
Show flexibility by assisting in different sections or tasks as required.
Work cooperatively with the kitchen team to achieve smooth service.
Report any concerns or irregularities to immediate supervisors.
Demonstrate a willingness to learn and improve skills while on duty.
Job Specific Responsibilities :
Assist with basic ingredient preparation such as washing, peeling, chopping, portioning, or simple mixing.
Support mise en place tasks as instructed by Commis or senior chefs.
Carry out dishwashing, cleaning of utensils, and sanitation of kitchen areas.
Help organize dry storage, chiller, and freezer sections according to FIFO standards.
Assist in receiving and storing goods by checking labels, dates, and cleanliness.
Deliver prepared items, ingredients, or tools between stations when required.
Dispose of waste safely and maintain kitchen cleanliness throughout the shift.
Support chefs during service by providing needed ingredients or basic prep assistance.
Ensure tools and equipment are cleaned and returned to their proper place after use.
Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors to support operations.
Take initiative in maintaining cleanliness and order, setting a standard for others to follow.
