Head of Nurse Surgery

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Head of Nurse Surgery in Badung, Bali. This is a full-time position that plays a strategic and clinical leadership role within our surgical nursing department. As Head of Nurse Surgery, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of surgical nursing operations, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, clinical excellence, and team performance. This role is integral to our mission of delivering world-class surgical care and will require your presence on-site in Badung, Bali.

Key responsibilities

1. Lead, supervise and manage the surgical nursing team, including recruitment, training, scheduling and performance management

2. Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, safety standards and regulatory requirements for all surgical nursing procedures

3. Develop and implement evidence-based surgical nursing practices and standard operating procedures

4. Collaborate with surgical teams, anaesthetists and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless perioperative care

5. Monitor patient outcomes, infection rates and adverse events, implementing continuous quality improvement initiatives

6. Manage budgets, resources and equipment allocation for the surgical nursing department

7. Provide clinical mentoring, education and professional development opportunities for nursing staff

8. Maintain detailed records, documentation and reporting for compliance and accreditation purposes

9. Respond to emergency situations and ensure preparedness for surgical complications

10. Communicate effectively with senior management regarding departmental performance and strategic initiatives

What we're looking for

1. Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification, with a current nursing licence valid in Indonesia

2. Minimum 10 years of experience in surgical nursing, with at least 5 years in a leadership or supervisory role

3. Advanced knowledge of perioperative nursing care, including preoperative assessment, intraoperative support and postoperative management

4. Demonstrated expertise in managing surgical teams and complex patient care environments

5. Strong understanding of infection control, patient safety protocols and clinical governance standards

6. Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills

7. Proficiency in English; fluency in Bahasa Indonesia or Bahasa Bali is advantageous

8. Experience with healthcare information systems and data management

9. Current knowledge of advanced life support (ALS) and trauma management

10. Professional certifications in surgical nursing or relevant specialisations are preferred

11. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic healthcare environment and adapt to changing priorities
