SENIOR ESTIMATOR & TECHNICAL ENGINEER

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator & Technical Engineer to lead project estimating, quantity surveying, technical coordination, and cost control activities across multiple construction projects.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring projects are accurately budgeted, technically coordinated, and commercially viable from pre-construction through execution. The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge with commercial awareness and has extensive experience in Design & Build environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Estimating & Cost Planning
• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and Bills of Quantities (BOQ/BQ) from architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Develop accurate project cost estimates, budgets, and cost plans during design and tender stages.
• Analyze project scope, specifications, and construction methodologies to identify cost implications.
• Maintain and update internal cost databases and pricing benchmarks.
• Support feasibility studies, value engineering exercises, and budget optimization.
  

Technical Coordination

• Review architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings for completeness, coordination, and buildability.
• Identify design discrepancies, missing information, and technical risks prior to construction.
• Coordinate drawing revisions and maintain drawing registers and document control systems.
• Liaise with consultants, designers, engineers, and project teams to resolve technical issues.
• Support Project Managers with technical reviews and construction planning.
  

Procurement & Tendering

• Prepare Requests for Quotation (RFQ) and technical bid packages.
• Analyze supplier and subcontractor quotations and provide commercial comparisons.
• Support procurement activities by evaluating material specifications and supplier proposals.
• Assist in tender submissions, contractor evaluations, and project costing exercises.
• Participate in vendor negotiations and recommendation processes.
  

Cost Control 

• Evaluate variation orders and assess their impact on project budgets and timelines.
• Monitor project costs against approved budgets and identify potential cost overruns.
• Prepare cost reports, budget updates, and commercial evaluations for management review.
• Support contract administration and commercial documentation throughout project execution.
  

Documentation & Reporting

• Ensure all technical and commercial documentation is properly maintained and updated.
• Prepare estimating reports, cost analyses, tender summaries, and project budget presentations.
• Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, quotations, and project cost information.
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in estimating, quantity surveying, technical engineering, or construction cost management.
• Strong experience within Design & Build, Contractor, or Construction Management companies.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including cost analysis and budgeting tools.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and construction drawing interpretation.
• Strong understanding of Civil, Structural, Architectural, and MEP works.
• Experience preparing BOQs, project budgets, and tender documentation.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Good English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with luxury residential, hospitality, hotel, villa, or commercial construction projects.

Experience in value engineering and cost optimization.

Understanding of Indonesian construction standards, materials, and market pricing.

Experience working in fast-paced, multi-project environments.
