About the role

We are seeking an experienced VP Operations to join Bali International Hospital in a full-time capacity, based in Bali. The Vice President Operations is responsible for leading, directing, and overseeing all hospital operational functions to ensure safe, efficient, patient-centered, and financially sustainable healthcare services. The position is accountable for driving operational excellence, service quality, productivity, patient experience, and continuous improvement initiatives across the hospital.

The VP Operations will collaborate closely with Medical Services, Nursing, Medical Support, Commercial, Finance, Human Capital, ICT, and other stakeholders to achieve the hospital's strategic objectives and international service standards.


Key Responsibilities


 1. Hospital Operations Leadership

 * Lead and oversee the day-to-day operational performance of the hospital.

* Ensure all operational departments function effectively and efficiently.

* Monitor hospital capacity, resource utilization, and operational readiness.

* Ensure compliance with hospital policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.

* Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the hospital's vision and business objectives.

 2. Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

 * Lead and champion Kaizen and Continuous Improvement initiatives throughout the organization.

* Drive Lean Healthcare principles to eliminate waste, reduce inefficiencies, and improve service delivery.

* Facilitate cross-functional improvement projects to enhance patient flow and operational performance.

* Monitor operational KPIs and implement corrective actions where required.

* Establish a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

 3. Patient Experience & Service Excellence

 * Ensure excellent patient experience across all service touchpoints.

* Monitor patient satisfaction indicators and complaint trends.

* Develop action plans to improve service quality and patient engagement.

* Ensure international-standard hospitality and service delivery for domestic and international patients.

 4. Operational Performance Management

 * Monitor and improve key hospital performance indicators, including:

  * Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR)

  * Average Length of Stay (ALOS)

  * Outpatient Volume

  * Operating Theatre Utilization

  * Physician Productivity

  * Patient Waiting Time

  * Revenue per Service Unit

  * Patient Satisfaction Index

  * Operational Cost Efficiency

 * Prepare regular operational performance reports for Executive Management and the Board.

 5. Strategic Planning & Growth

 * Support hospital expansion and service development initiatives.

* Identify operational risks and opportunities for improvement.

* Participate in annual business planning, budgeting, and manpower planning processes.

* Drive operational readiness for new clinical services and centers of excellence.

 6. Stakeholder Management

 * Build strong working relationships with:

 * Executive Leadership Team

* Medical Staff and Specialists

* Nursing Leadership

* External Partners

* Government Authorities

* Accreditation Bodies

 * Facilitate collaboration among departments to achieve operational goals.

 7. Governance, Risk & Compliance

 * Ensure compliance with:

 * Indonesian healthcare regulations

 * Hospital accreditation standards

 * Patient safety requirements

 * Quality management systems

 * Corporate governance principles

 * Participate in risk management and business continuity planning.


Qualifications


Education

 * Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Management, Hospital Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, Public Health, Medical Doctor, or related field.

* Master's Degree (MBA, MHA, MPH, or equivalent) is preferred.


Experience

 * Minimum 10 years of management experience in healthcare or hospital operations.

* Minimum 5 years in senior leadership roles.

* Experience in international hospitals, healthcare groups, or JCI-accredited hospitals is preferred.

* Demonstrated experience in leading large multidisciplinary teams.


Mandatory Requirements


Green Belt Kaizen Certification :

 * Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Kaizen Green Belt, or equivalent Continuous Improvement certification.

* Proven track record of leading operational improvement projects and achieving measurable outcomes.


English Proficiency

 * Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

* Ability to communicate effectively with expatriate physicians, international patients, foreign partners, and international stakeholders.

* Ability to prepare and present reports and presentations in English.
