The Major Account Executive Central Government & PSU (New Logos) role involves securing new government clients and institutions. Responsibilities include generating demand, closing long-cycle deals, influencing decisions, and replacing existing providers. The objective is to position Akamai as the primary platform for performance, security, and resilience in critical government applications.

As a Major Account Executive, you will be responsible for:

  • Driving new logo acquisition by targeting Central Government entities, identifying whitespace accounts, creating opportunities, and engaging early with key decision-makers.
  • Developing and executing a comprehensive territory plan with target accounts, entry strategies, and win themes; identifying stakeholders to drive momentum.
  • Creating and closing pipelines by developing opportunities via prospecting, partnerships, ecosystem influence, and leading high-value security solution pursuits effectively.
  • Replacing outdated vendors and fragmented solutions with a platform-driven, outcome-oriented approach while showcasing reliability in demanding government settings.
  • Building and activating an effective ecosystem of SIS, partners, consultants, and influencers to enhance market entry, scalability, and collaborative solution design.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Demonstrate 10 to 15 years of enterprise or government sales experience with verified success in acquiring new accounts with bachelor's degree
  • Demonstrate expertise in accessing Central Government or PSU accounts and selling cybersecurity, cloud, CDN, infrastructure, or platform solutions.
  • Navigate government sales expertly, understand India's procurement processes and PSU dynamics, manage ambiguity, long sales cycles, and engage senior leadership.
  • Demonstrate resilience, high energy, and determination; excel in ambiguity, complex sales settings, and proactively advance discussions while requesting business.
