CORE PURPOSE:
The School Counsellor Administrator provides administrative and operational support to the Counselling team and Safeguarding lead, ensuring the effective coordination and day-to-day functioning of counselling services across the whole school.
The role is responsible for supporting efficient counselling operations, maintaining accurate and confidential student records, coordinating communication between students, families, staff and external providers, and assisting in the smooth delivery of counselling and wellbeing services.
Working closely with the Lead School Counsellor and wider Counselling team, the School Counsellor Administrator plays an important role in supporting safeguarding procedures, service organisation, data management and administrative systems, while contributing positively to a professional, student-centred and wellbeing-focused environment.
The School Counsellor Administrator is expected to demonstrate professionalism, discretion, strong organisational capability and a commitment to supporting student wellbeing through efficient and responsive administrative practice.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications & Experience:
Relevant tertiary qualifications or diploma in Administration, Psychology, Social Work, Counselling or a related field.
Previous experience in an administrative role, preferably within an educational, counselling or wellbeing setting.
National Police Check.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
High level organisational, administrative and time management skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping and data management.
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion, professionalism and confidentiality.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Highly self-motivated with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Strong computer literacy, including Google Workspace and database systems.
