About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated International Physics Teacher to join PT Sinotif Indonesia's dynamic education team. This is a full-time position based in Bekasi, West Java, offering a unique opportunity to teach physics at the secondary education level within an international educational framework. In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality physics education to students from diverse backgrounds, fostering critical thinking and scientific inquiry. You will work within an international curriculum context, bringing global perspectives and best practices to the classroom whilst contributing to the academic excellence and strategic goals of our institution.
Key responsibilities
Plan, prepare and deliver engaging physics lessons using international curriculum standards and frameworks to secondary level students
Design and implement effective teaching methodologies that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities within the classroom
Conduct practical laboratory sessions, experiments and demonstrations to support conceptual understanding and scientific inquiry
Assess student progress through examinations, coursework, projects and practical assessments, providing constructive feedback for continuous improvement
Maintain detailed records of student attendance, performance and academic development in compliance with institutional policies
Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum resources, teaching materials and assessment tools aligned with international standards
Participate in staff meetings, professional development activities and curriculum planning sessions
Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement, participation and academic achievement
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, challenges and achievements
Contribute to extracurricular activities, science clubs or competitions that enhance student learning experiences
Stay updated with developments in physics education and international teaching best practices
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Physics, Science Education or a related field; Master's degree preferred
Teaching qualification or certification recognised internationally (such as PGCE, TEFL or equivalent)
Minimum of 2-3 years' experience teaching physics at secondary level, preferably in an international school setting
Proficiency in English at fluent level; additional language skills (particularly Indonesian) are advantageous
Strong subject matter expertise and enthusiasm for physics education
Experience with international curricula such as IGCSE, IB, A-Levels or similar frameworks
Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create an inclusive, supportive learning environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with students, parents and colleagues
Proficiency in educational technology and digital learning tools
Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with pedagogical innovations
Ability to work collaboratively within a multicultural educational community
Passion for inspiring students and fostering a love of scientific inquiry
