RF / Antenna Engineer (Poland)

We are seeking a motivated and skilled RF / Antenna Engineer to work on a wide range of client projects: design reviews, antenna development and integration, tuning, transmission line and filter work, near-field and EMC debugging, and pre-compliance measurements. The hardware is never the same twice, and the answer usually comes from combining simulation, measurement, and good engineering judgment. You will work at the intersection of electromagnetism, PCB design, and mechanical integration - turning requirements into antennas and RF solutions that actually work in the finished product, and telling the client clearly what to change when they don't. LOCATION: POLAND Flexibility to work either from our Krakow/ Wroclaw offices or from a home office – the choice is up to you! RESPONSIBILITIES: - Working on RF-related projects requiring review, troubleshooting, and improvements - Designing transmission lines, matching networks, and filters - Building prototypes and test fixtures; preparing samples for measurement - Measuring on a VNA and spectrum analyzer: S-parameters, impedance, power, harmonics, spurious emissions, and occupied bandwidth - Tuning antennas with discrete matching networks on bare PCBs and inside enclosures - Designing and modeling antennas and RF structures in EM solvers, running parametric sweeps and optimization - Probing boards with near-field probes to localize EMC interference sources and propose concrete fixes - Running, assisting, or consulting on conducted and radiated pre-compliance sweeps and assessing certification pass risk - Writing measurement reports, review findings, and recommendations - Contributing to internal measurement methods, fixtures, test setups, and report templates ## Requirements - Solid knowledge of RF and antenna fundamentals - Good understanding of electromagnetic waves and propagation - Good knowledge of analog and high-speed digital electronics - Solid experience with transmission lines, impedance matching, and confident use of the Smith chart - Hands-on experience with any full-3D EM simulation tool (HFSS, CST, openEMS, EMerge, or similar) - Practical and wide experience with a VNA and a spectrum analyzer NICE TO HAVE: - Experience with full FCC / ETSI certification campaigns and accredited test labs - Experience with radiated measurements on bench or semi-anechoic/anechoic setups - Experience with EMC troubleshooting and debugging with near-field probes - Experience with PCB CAD tools (Altium, KiCad, or similar) - Knowledge of PCB materials and manufacturing tolerances (FR4 vs Rogers, over-etch, Dk spread) - Understanding of PCB stack-up choices, RF grounding, vias, discontinuities, and component placement - Programming and scripting skills (Python, MATLAB, C) - Good communication and teamwork with hardware and firmware engineers WE OFFER YOU: - Available cooperation models: UoP or B2B - Office space or 100% remote – whichever suits you best! - Communication in English - only foreign customers, and international Teams - Simple structure and 'open door' way of communication - Full-time English teachers - Medical insurance for employees - HiQo University- internal education and training programs - HiQo Coins - system of rewarding employees for extracurricular activities
