About Sybilla Technologies?
Sybilla Technologies designs, builds and operates robotic optical observatories for monitoring objects in space. The company specializes in complete systems, software for automated data acquisition, analysis, and scheduling networks of sensors. We work in the domains of Space Situational Awareness, Space Surveillance and Tracking, Space Traffic Management, stellar and planetary research, education, and commercial on-demand observations.

About The Role
As a Passive RF / Signal Processing Engineer, you will develop software that processes SDR and RF data collected by distributed ground stations. Your work will span the entire signal processing pipeline—from ingesting raw IQ captures through synchronization, spectral analysis and signal detection to extracting meaningful information from real-world satellite transmissions.

This is a software-first engineering role for someone who enjoys solving challenging DSP problems, bridging theory with real hardware limitations, and delivering reliable, production-ready tools. If you're passionate about RF signal processing, satellite communications, or SDR technologies, you'll have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge solutions that support the future of space operations.

As a Passive RF Signal Processing Engineer, you will:
  • Design and develop software pipelines for processing RF/IQ data collected from SDR-based satellite monitoring systems.
  • Build robust tools for SDR data ingestion, validation, metadata verification, and format conversion.
  • Implement digital signal processing algorithms, including filtering, resampling, DC offset removal, and Doppler compensation.
  • Develop solutions for spectral analysis, channelization, and signal characterization.
  • Implement precise time synchronization mechanisms using GPSDO and distributed sensor networks.
  • Support satellite listening workflows by integrating orbital data, pass prediction, Doppler correction, and capture correlation.
  • Analyze system performance by measuring clock drift, timing accuracy, frequency offsets, and hardware-related impairments.
  • Develop signal detection and localization algorithms using techniques such as FDOA and TDOA.
  • Research, prototype and evaluate new DSP and RF processing methods before transforming them into maintainable production software.
  • Collaborate closely with software engineers, RF specialists, hardware teams, and system analysts to deliver reliable operational capabilities.
Essential Experience:
  • Professional experience developing software for RF, SDR, telecommunications, GNSS, satellite communications, telemetry, spectrum monitoring or comparable signal processing systems.
  • Strong understanding of digital signal processing fundamentals, including sampling theory, aliasing, FFT/STFT, filtering, resampling, synchronization, modulation/demodulation, SNR estimation and spectral analysis.
  • Hands-on experience working with RF/IQ data, including signal formats, metadata handling, and processing pipelines.
  • Strong Python programming skills with NumPy and SciPy, and the ability to develop reproducible scripts, notebooks, CLIs or data processing services.
  • Experience using Git, automated testing, debugging, profiling and modern software engineering best practices.
  • Ability to study technical specifications and scientific literature, prototype and benchmark algorithms, and translate them into robust, maintainable software.
  • Ability to communicate technical results through spectrograms, residual error plots, logs, and concise technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and spoken English.
Nice to Have
  • Experience developing performance-critical DSP software in C/C++.
  • Experience with GNU Radio, UHD/USRP, RTL-SDR, HackRF, bladeRF, LimeSDR or similar SDR ecosystems. Experience with satellite communications, telemetry decoding, or TT&C systems.
  • Knowledge of Doppler compensation, TLE/orbit propagation, and satellite pass prediction.
  • Familiarity with RF geolocation techniques such as TDOA, FDOA, and calibration methods.
  • Experience building or operating an SDR station, antenna systems, GPSDO or satellite ground stations.
  • Practical experience troubleshooting RF hardware, including antenna polarization, gain staging, clock synchronization, LO drift, interference, multipath effects and calibration.
  • Experience using RF laboratory equipment such as spectrum analyzers, VNAs, or signal generators.
  • Contributions to open-source DSP/SDR projects, technical publications, conference presentations or personal RF engineering projects.
What We Offer
  • Joining Sybilla Technologies means becoming part of a growing deep-tech company operating at the forefront of the space industry. We offer:
  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge satellite monitoring and Space Domain Awareness technologies
  • Real engineering challenges involving RF, DSP, SDR and space systems
  • Remote-first working model with our headquarters located in Bydgoszcz
  • Compensation package (which will depend on candidate`s skills and qualifications):
    • Employment contract (UoP):20,000–24,000 PLN gross
    • B2B: 155–185 PLN net/hour
  • Flexible working hours and full-time employment
  • Private medical care (LuxMed)
  • Multisport card
  • A collaborative environment where your ideas directly influence products used in real-world space applications
  • The opportunity to work alongside highly skilled engineers solving technically demanding problems with real impact
