Senior Cloud Engineer (GCP)

We are looking for a SeniorCloud Engineer with GCP to join an exciting project for our Fortune 500 client. The role involves deploying a managed GenAI SaaS platform into regulated client environments. Deep Google Cloud Platform knowledge is required as you will work on client-side in GCP and deploy data-plane environments, landing zones, and policy guardrails, and connect them to the existing Azure control plane.

This is a remote-first contract position with a required overlap of Australian working hours (7-10 AM CET).

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy and initialize: Client-plane data environments in GCP and connect them to the existing Azure control plane.

• Design and deploy: Landing zones and tenant onboarding patterns.

• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines that enable reliable, automated delivery across development, testing, staging, and production.

• Take ownership of: Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) and GitOps (Flux).

• Implement: Cross-cloud, cross-tenant management pattern & cross-cloud telemetry (Grafana / Telegraf)

• Define: networking, security policies, landing-zone configuration

Work Conditions

• Type: Full-time 6-month contract with high possibility of extension

• Start Date: ASAP

• Location: Remote (99%) in Europe; must be able to travel freely within Europe for workshops.

• Australian Time Zone Overlap: Required (7 AM - 10 AM CET)

• Contract with European LLC

Requirements

• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or Cloud Engineer, or Platform Engineer.

• Strong expertise of GCP, especially resource hierarchy, Organization Policy Service, IAM, VPC Service Controls, GKE.

• Experience with Azure cloud services and understanding Azure Lighthouse

• Proven experience in multi-tenant solutions.

• Knowledge of Multi-cloud / hybrid architecture

• Strong hands-on expertise with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), observability, secrets management, and secure deployment practices.

• Understanding of data residency / sovereignty requirements for regulated clients.

• Strong understanding of scalability, reliability, security, and operational best practices.

• Solid working knowledge of tools such as:

  • Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar

  • Terraform

  • Grafana (with Prometheus, Telegraf, … ), Datadog...

  • Flux, ArgoCD, …

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication skills, ability to work in a team environment, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Preferred Experience

• Familiarity with AWS

• Experience with Customer-managed keys / encryption

• Deploying deploying GenAI / RAG workloads

• Exposure to data-intensive and AI-driven products with a focus on performance, scalability, and portability.
