AVP/VP, Application Developer, Financial Technology

Key Accountabilities

• Responsible for the architecture design, core function development and implementation of front-office trading systems, ensuring high concurrency, low latency and high availability connectivity setup and technical support;
• In charge of HKEX and virtual asset trading platform connectivity setup, technical integration and operation support, guaranteeing stable and regulatory compliance;
• Coordinate vendor management and system integration, promoting seamless connection between trading systems, settlement and risk control systems;
• Assist the full project lifecycle management, coordinate business, testing and operation teams, and drive user acceptance testing and version release, 2nd line production support of front office trading platform;
• Establish and maintain standardized technical documentation, including system architecture, interface specifications, operation manuals and troubleshooting guide;
• Provide 2nd-line production support for trading systems, quickly respond to and resolve production issue, and participate in disaster recovery drills and market rehearsal;
• Explore blockchain and virtual asset technology in trading scenarios, participate in the R&D and iteration of distributed ledgers, digital asset custody and compliant trading systems;
• Responsible for other related tasks assigned by the team.

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or higher, in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Financial Technology, Information Security, or related fields;
• At least 8 years or more of software development experience in the financial industry, with al least 5 years of front-office trading system development and operations experience;
• Candidates with over 2 years of full time working experience in Hong Kong or overseas is considered as an advantage;
• Proficient in Java technology stack including core Java, JMS. JDBC, Spring/Spring Boot frameworks, and microservices architecture;
• Skilled in Oracle, MS SQL, Sybase, or MySQL databases, with familiarity in Windows Server, Linux/Unix operating systems, and containerization technologies (Docker/K8s);
• Familiar with trading business processes for stocks, futures, options, and virtual assets, and understand compliance requirements for virtual asset trading set by regulatory such as the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) in Hong Kong;
• Knowledgeable in low-latency design of trading systems, order routing, algorithmic trading, and risk control rules;
• Excellent cross-departmental communication and coordination skills, project management capabilities, and problem-solving abilities, with proven performance in efficiently executing complex initiatives under high-pressure environments;
• Proficiency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin is required, with the ability to communicate effectively in a multilingual working environment;
• Preference will be given to candidates with practical experience in connecting, developing, and interfacing with HKEX or other international exchange trading systems;
• Candidates with blockchain/distributed ledger technology (DLT) or virtual currency-related system development experience, and familiarity with digital asset trading, custody, and settlement processes, are highly preferred;
• Experienced in blockchain underlying technologies (such as Ethereum) and virtual assets/stablecoin/RWA-related technologies and business models, with knowledge of DeFi, CeFi, and compliance trading frameworks being advantage;
• Preference will be given to candidates holding relevant professional certifications such as Oracle Java or blockchain-related certifications (e.g., Certified Bitcoin Professional).
