Junior Web Developer

About the role

Assunta Hospital Petaling Jaya is seeking a driven and motivated Junior Web Developer / Web Developer to join our dynamic team. In this full-time position, you will support the development and maintenance of the hospital’s website and in-house digital platforms. Based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, you will play an important role in enhancing our digital services and delivering a smooth and user-friendly experience for patients, visitors, and hospital staff.

What you'll be doing

• Assist in the development and maintenance of in-house applications (e.g., GP Referral Portal, Homecare modules) using PHP, JavaScript, and Python.

• Support the use of Python to automate routine IT tasks, develop backend logic, and manage data processing workflows.

• Translate wireframes and designs into responsive, user-friendly web interfaces that align with hospital branding and accessibility standards.

• Support the integration of web applications with the hospital’s Hospital Information System (HIS) and third-party APIs using Microsoft SQL Server.

• Conduct testing and debugging of applications, perform routine database maintenance, and assist in resolving issues reported by hospital staff.

• Work closely with the IT team and various hospital departments to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions that improve clinical workflows.

• Maintain proper documentation for code, database schemas (ERDs), system architectures, and user guides.

• Continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and systems within the healthcare environment.

What we're looking for

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

• At least 1–2 years of experience in web development, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting

• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive web design

• Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress or Drupal

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think creatively

• Good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams

• A keen eye for detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
