About the Role
We are seeking a high‑performing State Manager – Victoria to lead and grow our Victorian operations within the waste and resource recovery sector. This is a senior leadership role with full P&L responsibility, requiring a commercially astute leader who can drive sustainable financial performance, operational excellence, and team capability.
You will have end‑to‑end accountability for safety, people, customers, and profitability across the state.
Key Responsibilities
Full P&L ownership for the Victorian business, including revenue, margin, cost control, and EBIT delivery
Develop and execute state business plans aligned to national strategy
Drive operational efficiency across collection, processing, and disposal activities
Lead, coach, and develop a multi‑disciplinary leadership team
Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, councils, contractors, and regulators
Identify and execute growth opportunities, including new contracts, renewals, and service expansion
Provide accurate forecasting, reporting, and performance analysis to senior leadership
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Proven experience as a State Manager, Regional Manager, or Senior Operations Manager
Demonstrated success managing a complex P&L in a capital‑intensive, operational environment
Background in waste management, resource recovery, recycling, logistics, utilities, or heavy industry
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate strategy into tangible results
Experience leading large, decentralised teams in safety‑critical environments
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
A hands‑on, accountable leadership style with a strong focus on performance and outcomes
