Estimator for Commercial Interior Fitout

About the role

MAISON DEKOR INDO is seeking an experienced Estimator for Commercial Interior Fitout to join our dynamic design and architecture team. This is a full-time position based in West Jakarta, Jakarta. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the pre-project phase, providing accurate cost assessments and detailed quotations for our commercial interior fitout projects. Your expertise will directly influence project profitability and client satisfaction, making this a strategically important position within our organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse project briefs, design drawings and specifications to determine scope of work and material requirements for commercial interior fitout projects

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates and quotations for clients, ensuring competitive pricing whilst maintaining healthy profit margins

• Conduct site surveys and measurements to gather necessary information for comprehensive cost assessments

• Liaise with suppliers, contractors and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing information and material quotes

• Review project specifications, plans and technical drawings to identify potential cost drivers and savings opportunities

• Maintain and update cost databases and historical project information to support future estimating activities

• Prepare tender documentation and supporting schedules of rates

• Collaborate with the design, project management and sales teams to refine estimates and address client requirements

• Monitor budget performance against actual costs and provide variance analysis as projects progress

• Ensure all estimates comply with company standards and industry best practices

What we're looking for

• Minimum 3-5 years' experience as an estimator in commercial interior fitout or related construction/design industries

• Strong knowledge of interior design materials, finishes, fixtures and fittings commonly used in commercial spaces

• Proficiency in quantity surveying and cost estimation methodologies

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating software; familiarity with CAD software is highly desirable

• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with meticulous attention to detail

• Strong negotiation and supplier management capabilities

• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and architectural plans with confidence

• Proven track record of delivering accurate estimates within tight timeframes

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively across multiple departments

• Professional certification in quantity surveying or estimating is preferred

• Understanding of building codes, standards and regulations applicable to commercial interiors in Indonesia is advantageous
