Veterinarian

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee biosecurity, animal health, and welfare programs across contract-growing pig farms.
• Develop and implement disease prevention, vaccination, medication, and treatment protocols.
• Conduct regular farm audits and visits to monitor compliance and ensure business continuity.
• Diagnose diseases through clinical assessment, behavioral observations, and diagnostic results, and implement appropriate treatments.
• Investigate disease outbreaks, perform epidemiological analyses, and establish preventive and containment measures.
• Lead disease surveillance, sampling, reporting, and compliance with BAI requirements, including ASF monitoring.
• Provide technical training and guidance to farm personnel, Production Officers, and contract growers on animal health and best practices.
• Manage veterinary medicine and vaccine usage and inventory.
• Maintain accurate health, treatment, and production records, and prepare regular performance reports.
• Coordinate with laboratories, government agencies, suppliers, and other stakeholders on animal health matters.
• Support operational decisions to improve productivity, animal welfare, and farm profitability.
• Monitor and analyze farm mortality and morbidity data to identify trends and support disease prevention strategies.

Qualifications:

• A graduate of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with a valid PRC Veterinary License.
• At least 2-3 years of experience in commercial swine production, preferably in contract-growing operations.
• Strong knowledge of swine diseases, biosecurity, production management, and ASF prevention.
• Has a valid Driver’s license and is knowledgeable in driving a 4-wheel vehicle.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
• Above average: reading comprehension, writing, speaking, and presentation skills; must have the ability to generate concise and effective reports.
• Must be able to understand and explain the basic financial ratios (e.g. Return of Investments, Internal Rate of Return, etc.); must know how to prepare and analyze cost benefit analysis and feasibility studies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Must be a critical thinker and has the ability to troubleshoot and solve technical problems or other business-related issues.
• Must have strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills and can interact with employees, customers, and colleagues in a professional and courteous manner.
• Ability to supervise and manage tasks and personnel to achieve company objectives. Must have the ability to discipline subordinates that go against company rules, work ethics, and values.
• Superior time management by managing ones' own time and the time of others.
• Must be a competent driver with a valid driver's license and is accredited by the company.
• Must be able to act ethically and honestly, with fairness and without consideration for personal gain in dealing with buyers, customers, and fellow team members.
