Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Primary Teacher to deliver high-quality teaching and learning for primary-aged students. The successful candidate will plan and deliver engaging lessons following the Cambridge or British curriculum, creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports each student's academic, social, and emotional development. This role requires a passionate educator who is committed to fostering a love of learning while building strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the primary curriculum, including English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, and other core subjects as required.
Deliver high-quality teaching aligned with the Cambridge or British curriculum.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students.
Create engaging, interactive, and student-centred learning experiences.
Foster students' literacy, numeracy, critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
Integrate inquiry-based and project-based learning where appropriate.
Encourage curiosity, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.
Assessment and Reporting
Monitor and assess student progress through ongoing formative and summative assessments.
Maintain accurate student records and assessment data.
Prepare written progress reports.
Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, wellbeing, and learning goals.
Student Support
Support students with diverse learning needs, including Special Educational Needs (SEN), where appropriate.
Support students who are learning English as an Additional Language (EAL).
Promote student wellbeing, confidence, resilience, and positive behaviour.
Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external specialists to support student development where required.
Classroom Environment
Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
Establish clear classroom routines, expectations, and positive behaviour management strategies.
Ensure student safeguarding and wellbeing at all times.
Professional Responsibilities
Maintain high standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.
Attend staff meetings, school events, and professional development sessions.
Collaborate effectively with colleagues to support curriculum planning and whole-school initiatives.
Contribute positively to the school community and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Requirements
Minimum five years of teaching experience in a primary school setting.
Bachelor's degree in Primary Education, Education, or a related field.
Recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS, or Bachelor of Education.
Experience teaching the Cambridge or British curriculum.
Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum across core subject areas.
Experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and/or English as an Additional Language (EAL) is an advantage.
Excellent classroom management, lesson planning, and assessment skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
