Job Overview
The Program Head is responsible for his respective courses and subjects, lecturers and students. The position is supervisory in nature and includes monitoring the development of lecturer teaching the course or discipline, as well as assisting the Dean along the same lines.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Dean in the attainment of institutional goals, instructions, research, community extension services and all related matters.
Participate actively in the curriculum development program.
Evaluate and recommend the continuing education program necessary for the improvement of qualifications and/or teaching skills of lecturers.
Plan and seek approval of the Dean in the implementation of the schedule of classes/subjects offered in every semester of each school year.
Assign lecturer teaching load suitable to his/her professional qualifications, experience and performance.
Evaluate the performance of the lecturer handling lecture and laboratory classes.
Hold conference with lecturers to improve their teaching skills and competence
Assist HR Department in the recruitment of qualified lecturers to teach specified subject areas
Ensure that the syllabi are developed and evaluated for relevance from time to time
Oversee the preparation /writing of instructional materials
Conduct regular class observations/classroom visits for the purpose of helping lecturers improve performance in their respective subject areas
Monitor student attendance and academic progress
Participates in activities promoting general welfare of the students.
Recommends lecturers for promotion, retention or termination based on the reported and recorded summary of teacher performance.
Submits requisition of textbooks / references, laboratory supplies and equipment necessary for the program.
Undertakes regular / periodic inventory of the classroom and laboratory facilities at least every end of the semester of the school year.
Prepare and submit reports of projects, activities, and accomplishment of the department/program.
Participates in the orientation of the new students and lecturers regarding college policies, rules and regulations
Maintain and uphold zero-tolerance policy on integrity violations within the department and ensure the highest standards of personal and professional integrity are consistently demonstrated.
Perform any other tasks which may be delegated by the Dean, the school ACOO or COO.
Required Qualifications:
Master's Degree (S2) in a relevant field of study (Bachelor of Psychology, Bachelor of Communication, Bachelor of Primary Education
Minimum 3–5 years of teaching experience in higher education.
Minimum 2 years of experience in academic leadership, program coordination, or supervisory roles within a higher education institution.
Demonstrated knowledge of higher education regulations, accreditation standards, curriculum development, and quality assurance processes.
Experience in faculty performance management, student academic monitoring, and academic planning.
Strong understanding of the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi (Teaching, Research, and Community Service).
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and academic information systems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Functional Academic Rank (Jabatan Fungsional) of at least Asisten Ahli or higher.
Experience leading accreditation activities (BAN-PT, LAM, or international accreditation bodies).
Proven record of research publications, community engagement projects, and academic contributions.
Experience in curriculum review and Outcome-Based Education (OBE) implementation.
Experience in student retention, completion, and success initiatives.
Familiarity with higher education quality management systems and academic governance.
Membership in relevant professional or academic associations.
