Job Description
Ensure all geological activities are carried out in accordance with SOPs and Occupational Health & Safety (HSE) requirements.
Identify and communicate geological risk areas (weak ground, water presence, and potential landslides).
Exercise Stop Work Authority for unsafe geological activities.
Ensure the accuracy, precision, and validity of geological data.
Control ore–waste boundaries in accordance with nickel specifications.
Provide mining direction recommendations based on geological data.
Support the achievement of product specifications (Ni, Fe, MgO, SiO?).
Provide timely geological data to support mining operations.
Coordinate closely with Production, Engineering, and Survey teams.
Ensure the availability of mine-ready areas.
Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation.
Analyze tonnage and grade deviations.
Provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
Optimize sampling methods.
Prevent rework caused by inaccurate geological data.
Coach and evaluate the performance of the geology team.
Enforce work discipline and data integrity.
Enhance the technical competency of the geology team.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Geology or Geological Engineering.
Experience in laterite nickel mining is preferred.
Understands exploration, grade control, and ore handling processes.
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Supervisor, Senior Geologist, or Geology QA/QC.
Proficient in geological software such as Surpac, ArcGIS, and Microsoft Excel as required.
Understands geological database management and data validation.
Understands geological QA/QC systems.
Knowledge of laterite nickel sampling practices.
Understanding of nickel ore classification.
Able to read and evaluate block models, cross sections, and isopach maps.
