Job Summary
The Packing Assistant is responsible for supporting the final stage of the bread production process by ensuring that packed bread products are properly arranged on trays, handled with care, and transferred efficiently to the designated loading area. The role helps maintain product quality, cleanliness, food safety, and timely preparation for dispatch.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the final packaging process of bread products.
- Arrange packed bread products neatly and securely on trays according to established standards.
- Inspect packaged products for proper sealing, labeling, and overall appearance before tray arrangement.
- Transfer filled trays safely and efficiently to the designated loading or dispatch area.
- Handle bread products carefully to prevent damage, contamination, or deformation during movement.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the packing and loading areas in compliance with food safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Ensure trays and other packaging materials are clean and in good condition before use.
- Follow production schedules and packing instructions to meet daily output targets.
- Report damaged products, packaging defects, equipment issues, or safety concerns to the supervisor immediately.
- Assist in organizing and storing trays, packaging materials, and workstations after production.
- Comply with company policies on food safety, quality assurance, workplace safety, and hygiene.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Production or Packaging Supervisor.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent; vocational training is an advantage.
- Previous experience in food manufacturing, bakery production, or packaging is preferred but not required.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting, carrying, and moving trays of bread products.
- Able to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Willing to work on shifting schedules, weekends, overtime, and holidays when required.

- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to arrange and handle products carefully to maintain product quality.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Strong sense of responsibility, punctuality, and reliability.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed in a bakery or food manufacturing production facility.
- Requires prolonged standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying trays throughout the shift.
- Exposure to warm production areas, bakery equipment, and repetitive manual tasks.
- Required to wear company-issued personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with sanitation and food safety requirements at all times.
