The Car Wash Operator is responsible for providing high-quality vehicle cleaning services while ensuring excellent customer satisfaction. The role includes washing, drying, vacuuming, detailing vehicle interiors and exteriors, maintaining cleanliness of the work area, and following company safety and service standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Welcome customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Inspect vehicles before and after washing for existing damage and cleanliness.
- Perform exterior washing using approved equipment, soaps, and cleaning solutions.
- Vacuum and clean vehicle interiors, including carpets, seats, dashboards, door panels, and trunk areas.
- Dry vehicles thoroughly to prevent water spots.
- Apply wax, tire shine, glass cleaner, and other detailing products when required.
- Clean wheels, tires, and wheel wells.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the washing and detailing area.
- Operate pressure washers, vacuum cleaners, polishing machines, and other car wash equipment safely.
- Monitor cleaning supplies and report low inventory to the supervisor.
- Follow company safety procedures and proper handling of chemicals.
- Assist customers with inquiries regarding available services.
- Ensure every vehicle meets company quality standards before release.
- Report equipment malfunctions or vehicle damage immediately.
- Support other team members during busy operating hours.
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or vocational graduate preferred.
- Previous experience in a car wash or automotive detailing is an advantage but not required.
- Physically fit and able to stand for long periods.
- Willing to work outdoors under varying weather conditions.
- Able to lift equipment and supplies when necessary.
- Good attention to detail.
- Honest, dependable, and hardworking.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Willing to work weekends, holidays, and shifting schedules.
