Lab Assistant (Compounder)

About the role

TechnicoFlor Indonesia is seeking a dedicated Lab Assistant (Compounder) to support our fragrance development activities. In this role, you will assist perfumers and preparing fragrance samples, conducting laboratory testing, maintaining documentation, and ensuring laboratory operations run efficiently.

Key responsibilities

1. Prepare and compound various chemical substances and formulations according to precise laboratory specifications and standard operating procedures

2. Measure, weigh, and mix raw materials using appropriate laboratory equipment and instruments

3. Maintain accurate records of all compounding activities, including quantities used, dates, and batch numbers

4. Ensure all work areas, equipment, and instruments are kept clean, organised, and properly maintained

5. Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues

6. Perform quality control checks on prepared compounds to ensure they meet required standards

7. Assist senior laboratory staff with various analytical and technical tasks as required

8. Properly label and store all prepared compounds in designated areas according to laboratory guidelines

9. Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisory staff immediately

10. Support the laboratory team in general housekeeping and inventory management duties

What we're looking for

1. Minimum SMK/D3 in Chemistry or related field.

2. Minimum 1 year of experience as a Compounder or Lab Assistant, preferably in the fragrance, cosmetic, or chemical industry.

3. Good command of English, both written and spoken.

4. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

5. Detail-oriented, organized, and able to maintain accurate documentation.

6. Proactive, responsible, and eager to learn.

7. Able to work independently and as part of a team.

8. Available to join immediately or within a short notice period is preferred.
