Key Responsibilities

  • Review drawings, specifications, BOQs, contracts, and tender documents for civil and structural works.
  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs for earthworks, concrete works, structural works, masonry, finishing, infrastructure, and external works.
  • Prepare comprehensive cost estimates, budgets, and bid proposals.
  • Analyze labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Obtain, evaluate, and negotiate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Develop unit rate analyses and cost breakdown structures.
  • Identify project risks, cost-saving opportunities, and value engineering alternatives.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, project management, and design teams to clarify project requirements.
  • Prepare tender documentation and support bid submissions.
  • Evaluate variations, change orders, and additional work claims.
  • Maintain and update cost databases, productivity rates, and historical project cost records.
  • Assist in project budgeting, forecasting, and cost monitoring throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct site visits and pre-bid assessments to verify project conditions and scope requirements.
  • Ensure estimates comply with project specifications, company standards, and applicable regulations.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Civil Estimator or Quantity Surveyor in construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of civil, structural, architectural, and infrastructure works.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and quantity take-off software.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Planswift, CostX, or similar estimating software is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet strict deadlines.
