As a SWAT Guide, you’ll do more than just drive and lead hikes — you’ll create immersive experiences, connecting guests to the landscapes, history, and culture of the region.

This role combines adventure, storytelling, and hospitality. You’ll be the face of SWAT, ensuring tours run smoothly, safely, and memorably, while representing our mission, values, and standards in every interaction.

If you love the outdoors, enjoy working with people, and thrive in dynamic, hands-on environments, this role is your chance to turn passion into profession.

  • Guide and manage SWAT tours throughout the U.S. in a professional, safe, and engaging manner.

  • Prepare thoroughly for each tour, including confirming logistics (lodging, meals, activities) 24 hours before departure.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of geology, history, wildlife, photography, and cultural heritage of the Southwest.

  • Complete all trip reports, including detailed timing, guest experiences, receipts, and photographs.

  • Capture a minimum of 5 photographs per day and upload them nightly; share with Operations for marketing and archival purposes.

  • Ensure DOT compliance, including daily ELD logs, inspections, and medical certification.

  • Maintain CPR/First Aid certification; obtain additional training (e.g., Wilderness First Responder) if requested by employer.

  • Correctly use and care for company property (vehicles, credit cards, equipment).

  • Promote SWAT on social media once per tour and encourage guest engagement.

  • Adhere to company dress and appearance standards.

  • Uphold SWAT’s Mission Statement, Core Values, and Brand Standards in all guest interactions

Requirements

  • Minimum age: 21 years old.

  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (1 or fewer tickets).

  • DOT Medical Certificate (if driving multi-passenger vehicles).

  • Current First Aid/CPR certification (required).

  • Ability to lift and carry equipment, lead hikes, and handle long working days.

  • Strong interpersonal and storytelling skills.

  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and peak season availability (May–October).

  • Must be able to work independently and manage groups without direct supervision.

Benefits

  • Competitive daily and hourly pay with additional per diem.

  • Paid training and certifications (e.g., Wilderness First Responder).

  • Flexible, seasonal work with the opportunity to guide in some of the most beautiful locations in the U.S.

  • Employee referral bonus ($150 for successful guide referrals).

  • Opportunities for professional growth and advancement within SWAT.

  • Access to discounted travel arrangements through SWAT’s partner network.

  • Join a team passionate about adventure, guest experience, and creating memories that last a lifetime
