Job Position: Pediatrician
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Diagnose and treat pediatric illnesses and injuries, including managing acute pediatric emergencies and chronic pediatric diseases.
- Conduct well-child consultations, developmental assessments, and monitor growth and developmental milestones.
- Administer immunization programs and develop pediatric clinical protocols and vaccination programs.
- Provide nutritional counseling, preventive healthcare, and educate parents on child health and disease prevention.
- Coordinate referrals to pediatric subspecialists.
- Assist management in developing pediatric inpatient and neonatal services.
Working Condition/Environment
- Can work in multi-cultural and remote environments
- Willing to be relocated and work in Papua New Guinea
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) with specialization in Pediatrics
- Board certification or its equivalent specialist qualification with current BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications.
- Minimum of 2-5 years experience in Hospital based pediatric practice, Pediatric emergency medicine and Community child health care programs
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with superior clinical judgement and patient-centered care
- High ethical and professional standards
- Strong documentation and reporting skills & high commitment to quality improvement and patient safety
- Proficient in electronic medical records and Microsoft Office application
- Willing to participate in healthcare facility development, accreditation on initiatives and continuous professional education
