Responsibilities
• Lead mechanical engineering activities for data center construction and expansion projects, including HVAC, chilled water, piping, fire protection, and mechanical infrastructure.
• Review mechanical designs, shop drawings, technical submittals, and method statements to ensure compliance with project requirements and engineering standards.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders throughout design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover.
• Monitor construction quality, resolve mechanical technical issues, and ensure project delivery meets schedule, quality, and safety objectives.
• Witness and validate testing and commissioning activities, ensuring all mechanical systems perform as designed before handover.
• Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all mechanical systems after project completion, providing technical guidance and support to Facility Operations.
• Develop and maintain engineering standards, technical documentation, SOPs, and best practices to support long-term reliability and maintainability.
• Identify opportunities to improve system performance, energy efficiency, operational resilience, and lifecycle cost of mechanical infrastructure.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in mechanical engineering for data centers, mission-critical facilities, MEP consulting, or construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, chilled water systems, CRAH/CRAC, pumps, piping, fire protection, and mechanical infrastructure.
• Experience in design review, construction supervision, testing & commissioning, vendor coordination, quality control, and project handover.
• Familiar with international standards such as ASHRAE, TIA-942, Uptime Institute, NFPA, and relevant local codes.
• Proficient in reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, BoQs, and technical documentation.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across consultants, contractors, vendors, procurement, and operations teams.
• Professional certifications such as PMP, LEED, ATD, CDCP, or equivalent are an advantage.
