About the Role
Midea Indonesia is looking for an experienced Import Operations Specialist to support our manufacturing operations. This role will be responsible for managing the end-to-end import process of production materials and equipment, ensuring timely customs clearance, delivery, and logistics coordination to support uninterrupted factory operations.
Responsibilities
• Manage the full import process for production materials and equipment under general trade import procedures.
• Monitor shipment arrivals, customs clearance progress, cargo release, and final delivery to factory locations.
• Coordinate with overseas suppliers, shipping lines, freight forwarders, trucking vendors, and customs brokers.
• Ensure smooth execution of import logistics activities while maintaining delivery timelines.
• Verify import documentation and support customs compliance requirements.
• Assist in handling customs inspections, import declarations, and logistics-related issues.
• Maintain import logistics records, shipment tracking reports, arrival schedules, and cost documentation.
• Investigate and resolve logistics issues such as delays, damages, and shipment discrepancies.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for import logistics processes and SOP implementation.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure efficient material flow for manufacturing operations.
Requirements
• Minimum Diploma (D3) or Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Business Administration, or related fields.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Import Logistics, Customs Clearance, Freight Forwarding, Supply Chain Operations, or related positions.
• Experience handling import documentation and general trade import procedures.
• Familiarity with Indonesian import regulations, customs processes, and logistics operations is highly preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple logistics activities simultaneously.
• Capable of identifying and resolving logistics issues independently.
• Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with local and international logistics partners.
• Proficient in English for daily business communication.
• Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Mandarin proficiency will be an advantage but is not mandatory.
