About the role
Corrective Services is seeking motivated and experienced individuals to join our team of healthcare professionals at Casuarina Prison in the role of Registered Nurse.
In this role, you will provide direct care to offenders in our care and will be an active member of a supportive multidisciplinary team.
The successful applicant will be committed to delivering excellent standards of nursing care; ensure patient safety; have well developed clinical assessment skills; have the ability to make sound clinical judgements; have a strong work ethic and demonstrated effective communication & interpersonal skills.
As part of the Health Services team, the successful applicant will be expected to:
Maintain focus on the Department’s goals concerning safety, security and rehabilitation.
Work to improve communication and model integrity and respect in all interactions.
Operate within the Department's Corporate Governance Framework, policies and procedures and ensure effective transparency and accountability of all Department activity.
Operate within chain of command facilities to coordinate activities required to meet the Department’s strategic objectives.
Work collaboratively to achieve common goals and best practice and facilitate business improvements as appropriate.

A nurse’s allowance will be paid from 1 July 2026, subject to employment conditions and agreed hours of work.
