Test Technician (Onsite Batam)

IBMC is assisting a client in hiring a vital operational leader. Our client designs, manufactures, and supports enterprise-class IT and AI infrastructure systems — from GPU servers to data platforms — all built, secured, and supported in the UAE. Powering technological sovereignty and strategic enterprise initiatives, they are expanding their global footprint and establishing a new operational facility in Batam, Indonesia.

We are seeking a tech-savvy, process-oriented, and highly efficient Test Technician to validate system performance prior to deployment. Based permanently on-site at our new facility in Batam, this role serves as the software and functional gateway of our production floor. Your goal is to run intense server burn-in cycles, manage testing environments using Command Line Interfaces, and compile performance logs to guarantee stable, field-ready AI infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Burn-In & Functional Testing: Execute hardware burn-in procedures and intensive functional test routines on newly assembled GPU servers and data platforms.

• OS Environment Management: Navigate Linux environments via command line to set up testing variables, mount drives, and initiate localized hardware validation tools.

• Script Execution: Run pre-configured automated test scripts to stress-test CPUs, memory modules, cooling units, and network ports.

• Results Documentation: Meticulously collect, structure, and document digital test results, log errors, and report system crashes to engineering teams.

• Defect Escalation: Isolate systems that fail functional performance metrics and seamlessly route them back to the troubleshooting team with accurate log entries.

Requirements

• Education: Associate Degree (D3) in Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

• Technical Literacy: Proven experience operating within Linux-based command line structures and running foundational automated scripts.

• Testing Exposure: Solid understanding of hardware benchmarking, computing architecture stress testing, or functional component verification.

• Documentation Skills: Strong structured data skills to capture, label, and index software performance logs without omissions.

• Presence: Must be fully open to a permanent, on-site position located in Batam, Indonesia.

Nice-to-Haves / Bonus Points

• Prior hands-on experience setting up data storage nodes, cloud-scale memory blocks, or processing cluster environments.

• Basic understanding of shell scripting (Bash) or Python for localized test tracking automation.
