Wanta Thome is a plaintiff-side employment litigation firm with offices in Minneapolis and Chicago. We represent employees on contingency in discrimination, retaliation, wage, and whistleblower matters across Minnesota and Illinois. Our mission is a more just workplace and society through employee advocacy. We are a results-driven team of about 25 people, and we measure what matters: every role at the firm has a scorecard, clear ownership, and a direct line to client outcomes.

The Role

The Pre-Litigation Case Manager owns the client experience and case progress from signed retainer to filing or pre-suit resolution. You are the client's primary point of contact during the pre-litigation phase and the engine that keeps cases moving: gathering evidence, building the factual record, supporting demand preparation, and making sure nothing sits idle. You will work directly with attorneys and report on a weekly scorecard.

This role suits someone who is systematic, thorough, and energized by measurable progress. Our clients come to us at difficult moments in their working lives; you will be the person who makes them feel heard, informed, and represented.

What You Will Do

  • Serve as primary client contact for an active pre-litigation caseload; keep clients informed on status, next steps, and timelines.
  • Collect, organize, and index client documents, personnel records, and evidence; identify gaps and follow up until complete.
  • Prepare case summaries, chronologies, damages information, and written demand documents to support attorney evaluation and demand letters.
  • Maintain accurate case records and pipeline stages in our CRM (HubSpot); flag stalled matters and aging follow-ups.
  • Track statutes of limitation and internal deadlines; escalate risk early.
  • Coordinate with intake and litigation teams on case handoffs in both directions.

What We Are Looking For

  • 3+ years in a legal support, case management, paralegal, or client service role; plaintiff-side or employment law experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication, including with clients under stress.
  • Strong follow-through: you close loops, document as you go, and never let a deadline surprise you.
  • Comfort with technology and data; experience with a CRM or case management system is a plus.
  • Empathy for working people and a commitment to employee advocacy.

Compensation

  • $6.00–$11.00 USD/hour
