Job Summary
The IT Project Manager is responsible for planning, managing, and delivering technology projects within the banking industry, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. The role requires strong stakeholder management skills, experience in banking systems, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams including business, operations, vendors, infrastructure, security, and development teams.


Key Responsibilities


Project Planning & Execution

  • Lead end-to-end project management activities for banking technology projects.
  • Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, resources, and budgets.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and milestones.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure timely delivery of project objectives.
  • Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests.

Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders including Business Units, IT Development, Infrastructure, Information Security, Compliance, Risk Management, and Operations.
  • Act as the primary liaison between clients, vendors, and project teams.
  • Conduct regular project status meetings and provide progress reports to management and stakeholders.
  • Escalate critical issues and recommend solutions to senior management.


Banking System Implementation

  • Manage implementation and enhancement of banking applications such as:
  1. Core Banking Systems
  2. Digital Banking Platforms
  3. Mobile Banking & Internet Banking
  4. Payment Systems
  5. Virtual Account Solutions
  6. Switching & Transaction Processing Systems
  7. Loan & Credit Systems
  8. Treasury Systems
  9. Regulatory Reporting Systems
  10. Ensure integration between banking systems and third-party applications.


Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure projects comply with banking regulations and industry standards.
  • Coordinate project activities in accordance with governance frameworks and internal policies.
  • Ensure proper documentation, testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and deployment processes are followed.
  • Support audit requirements and regulatory reviews related to project implementation.


Vendor & Resource Management

  • Manage external vendors, consultants, and third-party service providers.
  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure contractual obligations are met.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources to optimize project delivery.


Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare project status reports, steering committee presentations, and executive summaries.
  • Maintain project documentation including business requirements, risk logs, issue logs, and project closure reports.
  • Track project KPIs and success metrics.


Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • Master's Degree is an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in IT Project Management.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience handling banking projects for Bank Himbara (BRI, Mandiri, BNI, BTN) or other major banks.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale IT implementation projects in banking environments.
  • Experience working with system integrators, fintech companies, or banking technology vendors is preferred.

  • Comfortable interacting with senior management, regulators, and banking stakeholder
