TECHNICAL SENIOR MANAGER
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) runs effectively across all critical ship components.
Approve and manage repair/maintenance work orders for crane and tugboat engines
Oversee preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance of all vessel machinery and equipment (main engine, auxiliary engine, genset, winch, steering gear).
Plan, supervise, and control annual and periodic docking activities, including budget preparation, vendor comparison, and progress tracking.
Lead troubleshooting efforts for major machinery or equipment failures.
Coordinate and manage vessel certifications, including statutory certificates, class certificates, and ISM/ISPS compliance.
Conduct routine inspections of hull, machinery, and navigational equipment to ensure optimal condition.
Evaluate and develop the performance of technical crew, including Chief Engineers, Second Engineers, and engine teams.
Provide technical guidance and ensure SOPs and maintenance standards are implemented effectively.
Approve and manage repair/maintenance work orders for crane and tugboat engines.
Oversee compliance with Classification Society reports and plan docking schedules accordingly.
Prepare and control docking budgets, ensuring approval prior to work commencement.
Regularly review and improve technical procedures, implementing corrective actions where needed.
Requirements
Hold ATT-1 Certificate or Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, or Marine Engineering.
Strong experience minimum 10 years as a Technical Manager in marine/shipping (must have experience with tug & barge operations and cranes)
Proven experience in managing docking, major overhauls, and marine engine maintenance for various brands.
Strong technical knowledge of: Main engine & auxiliary engine, Genset, Propulsion system (gearbox, shaft, propeller), Bilge & ballast system, Hydraulic system (winch, steering gear), Planned Maintenance System (PMS) operation and implementation
Solid understanding of Class rules, Flag State requirements, and statutory certificates.
Familiar with ISM Code, ISPS Code, and SMK3.
