Key Responsibilities
- Prepare quantity take-offs, cost estimates, budgets, and BOQs.
- Monitor budget versus actual cost, material usage, and project cost variance.
- Measure completed work and verify site quantities.
- Prepare variation orders, additional work quantities, claims, and supporting documents.
- Maintain variation, claim, RFI, inspection, and approval registers.
- Prepare cost reports, forecasts, and cost-control records.
- Coordinate directly with the Consultant regarding inspections, quantities, technical submissions, variation works, and claims.
- Prepare and follow up on RFIs, inspection requests, material submissions, and corrective-action records.
- Prepare simple AutoCAD drawings, marked-up drawings, sketches, and as-built updates.
- Ensure documents are complete, traceable, and suitable for audit.
- Assist with progress billing and reconciliation of quantities with the Consultant.
- Conduct site verification before submitting quantities, claims, or payment documents.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of relevant construction experience.
- Knowledge of quantity take-off, budgeting, cost control, BOQ, and progress measurement.
- Experience preparing variation orders, additional-work claims, and supporting documents.
- Basic AutoCAD skills are required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and construction documentation.
- Able to communicate and coordinate professionally with consultants, engineers, and site personnel.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Detail-oriented, honest, and capable of maintaining complete audit records.
- Experience in a contractor's audit department, cost-audit department, internal-control department, or quantity-surveying department is preferred.
- Experience in government, school, structural-strengthening, or retrofitting projects is an advantage.
- PRC-licensed Civil Engineer is preferred but not mandatory, unless required for the assigned regulated function.
Important
This is not a pure QA/QC inspection position. The successful candidate must understand quantities, budgeting, cost control, variation claims, and Consultant coordination.
