The position of Area Manager plays a critical leadership role within the organization and is responsible for overseeing and managing a geographically and culturally diverse team of commercial profiles composed of Account Managers. The role will be responsible of the optimization and management of differentiated accounts and is also responsible for driving successfully the financial targets and key performance indicators of the assigned region and large hotel chains.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Lead a team of Yield Managers in the renegotiation (by telephone/email/personal visits) of contracting conditions with our suppliers, to maximize availability, offers, best available rates.
- Supervise the loading process of the negotiated conditions with the hotels.
- Reporting & Analysis. Preparation of several reports extracted from internal tools to identify possible weak spots in the contracted conditions in order to be improved.
- Analyze availability and negotiate allotment top ups, releases, minimum stays, and stop sales.
- Providing hotels with training on in-house Supplier Portal. Demonstration to clients on how to optimize their inventory, competitiveness (rates) in order to increase sales for both parties.
- Daily monitoring on selected differentiated product (hotels) and ensure products reaches the maximum results in terms of profit
- Identifying Business Opportunities in terms of new product, offers or any other in coordination with Contracting Manager in respective sourcing market.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the Travel and Hospitality Industry preferred
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Proven ability to drive in a fast paced environment while managing multiple projects & tight deadlines
- Well organized, ability to manage multitask roles & prioritize
- Strong negotiation, analytical, strategic & creative problem solving skills
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills face to face, over email or phone
- Strong computer applications skills (e.g. Microsoft Word, excel)
