The Primary Co-Teacher / Teacher Assistant supports the Lead Classroom Teacher in delivering quality education to primary students. The role focuses on assisting with classroom activities, supporting student learning, and helping maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment. The Co-Teacher works collaboratively with the Lead Teacher and other staff to support the implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum that meets the academic and social-emotional needs of students.
Qualifications & Experience
?Experience working with children in a school or educational setting is preferred.
?Relevant degree in Education or a related field is an advantage.
?Minimum 2 work references from previous employers.
?Experience working in an international school environment is a plus.
?Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs or SEN will be an advantage.
?Police record check.
?Proficiency in English language.
?Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for learners.
?Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
?Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
?Passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
?Basic computer literacy.
Duties & Responsibilities
?Assist the Lead Teacher in preparing and delivering classroom activities and learning materials.
?Support students during lessons, group work, and independent learning activities.
?Help maintain a safe, positive, and supportive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and positive behaviour.
?Provide additional support to individual students or small groups as directed by the Lead Teacher.
?Assist with classroom organization, preparation of teaching resources, and maintenance of learning materials.
?Support the monitoring of student progress and provide feedback to the Lead Teacher when necessary.
?Help supervise students during classroom transitions, recess, school activities, and excursions.
?Maintain positive relationships with students and contribute to a respectful classroom culture.
?Participate in school meetings, professional development sessions, and school activities when required.
?Assist in maintaining classroom records such as attendance and student documentation when needed.
?Follow and uphold all school policies and procedures.
?Support the overall well-being and development of students in the classroom.
