Accounting & Tax Manager

About the role

PT Prodigy Energy Resources is seeking an experienced Accounting & Tax Manager to join our Finance team in Jakarta Selatan. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in ensuring the financial integrity and compliance of our organisation. As Accounting & Tax Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, and tax compliance activities. This role is essential to maintaining our high standards of financial management and supporting the strategic objectives of the company.

Key responsibilities

1. Manage and oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions of the company and group entities.

2. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Indonesian Financial Accounting Standards (PSAK) and international accounting principles

3. Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with regulatory requirements

4. Manage tax compliance matters, including the preparation and filing of corporate income tax returns, value-added tax (VAT) returns, and other statutory tax obligations

5. Monitor changes in tax legislation and accounting standards to ensure the organisation remains compliant with current regulations

6. Conduct regular reconciliations of accounts and investigate any discrepancies or anomalies

7. Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and other government agencies as required

8. Lead and supervise the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and performance management

9. Prepare financial reports and analysis for management and stakeholders to support decision-making processes

10. Implement and maintain effective internal controls and risk management procedures within the accounting function

11. Budget planning and variance analysis to support financial forecasting and planning activities

What we're looking for

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognised institution

2. Professional accounting qualifications such as CA (Chartered Accountant), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or equivalent certification is highly desirable

3. Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting and tax management, preferably within the energy, resources, or manufacturing sectors

4. Strong knowledge of Indonesian tax law, financial accounting standards (PSAK), and compliance requirements

5. Proven experience in preparing and managing financial statements, tax returns, and audit processes

6. Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is advantageous

7. Excellent understanding of internal controls, risk management, and corporate governance

8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex accounting issues

9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

10. Leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop a team of accounting professionals

11. Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all financial matters

Knowledge of energy sector operations and compliance requirements would be beneficial
