About the project and Tulodo

We are looking for motivated and committed individuals to join our team as Project Officers for an exciting Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) and Immunization project in Vanuatu, Samoa, and Tonga. The project focuses on strengthening vaccine confidence, improving immunization uptake, addressing misinformation, and supporting community engagement through culturally relevant SBC strategies and communication materials. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with Ministries of Health, UNICEF, frontline health workers, and communities to support meaningful public health impact across the Pacific. Applicants must be citizens of Vanuatu, Samoa, or Tonga.

Roles and Responsibilities

The project will recruit three Country Project Officers, one based in each country (Vanuatu, Samoa, and Tonga). Their key responsibilities include:

- Supporting toolkit research, adaptation, and production processes at country level;

- Coordinating with Ministries of Health, UNICEF, and local stakeholders;

- Organising stakeholder consultations, workshops, and validation sessions;

- Supporting community engagement and coordination with frontline health workers and local partners;

- Assisting logistical and administrative management of project activities;

- Supporting data collection, feedback gathering, and documentation during toolkit development and validation;

- Ensuring country-specific contextual inputs are integrated into communication materials and toolkit adaptation processes.


Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Public Health, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Policy, or a related field; Candidates with relevant field experience are highly encouraged to apply.

- At least 3 years of experience in project coordination, community engagement, social and behaviour change (SBC), communication campaigns, or public health programmes;

- Experience supporting immunization, health promotion, community outreach, or risk communication initiatives is highly desirable;

- Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with government stakeholders, health workers, community leaders, and partners;

- Excellent organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, timelines, and activities simultaneously;

- Experience in developing or supporting communication materials, community dialogue activities, media engagement, or radio/community campaigns is an advantage;

- Understanding of SBC and behavioural communication principles, particularly related to immunization, public health, or community engagement, is preferred;

- Familiarity with the cultural, social, and community dynamics of Vanuatu, Samoa, or Tonga;

- Proficiency in English and relevant local languages is highly desirable;

- Passionate about improving community health, strengthening vaccine confidence, and supporting positive social change across Pacific communities.
